RenoMark Program

About RenoMark

The RenoMark program, administered by the national level of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) and supported by provincial and local home builders’ associations across the country, serves to connect homeowners to professional renovators and contractors who are committed to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. For homeowners, the RenoMark symbol recognizes trusted members of CHBA who abide by a rigorous, renovation-specific Code of Conduct. For members, the program sets your business apart from others, creates trust with potential clients, and gives you a marketing advantage.

The Benefits of Joining

How To Join

Renovators and trade contractors who are already members of their local Home Builders’ Association can join RenoMark through CHBA’s online verification system.

The verification system is an online tool that makes it simple for renovators and trade contractors to register for the RenoMark program and provide the documentation required in the Code of Conduct.

Once the verification process is complete, members will receive immediate access to a full suite of marketing materials to promote their designation as a RenoMark member.

If your company is not yet a member of your local Home Builders’ Association, you will need to join the local association via their local process. Once your membership is confirmed, you will then be able to proceed to the RenoMark verification system.

RenoMark Code of Conduct

Professional RenoMark Renovators are committed to providing superior service to their clients. They must abide by their local Home Builders’ Association’s Code of Ethics and the RenoMark Code of Conduct, which promises a standard of performance higher than common industry practice. CHBA verifies annually that members agree to the RenoMark Code of Conduct which includes the following requirements:

  • Maintain a safe and organized work site at all times.
  • Have and/or work only with subcontractors which have workplace safety and employers’ liability coverage.
  • Abide by all of the Local Home Builders’ Association’s Code of Ethics.
  • Carry a minimum of $2 million in liability insurance.
  • Return homeowners phone calls within two business days.
  • Provide a detailed, written contract (including a scope of work) for all jobs.
  • Carry all applicable licenses and permits as required.
  • Have access to education, training and professional development.

Marketing Resources

The best way to let homeowners know that your company is part of the RenoMark program is to share with your potential clients directly! To help you market your participation in the program effectively, CHBA has an ever-growing bank of marketing assets available to RenoMark-verified members, including social media graphics, videos, sample radio commercials, newspaper ads, and more. There’s even a sample social media campaign, with graphics that have a spot for you to add your logo.

CHBA is also marketing the program often through various channels. The RenoMark Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts all have great content posted several times a week that you can share on your own social media accounts. Make sure you’re following RenoMark and CHBA will follow you back!
